Dimitri Tiomkin | Filmkomponist
* 10. Mai 1894, Krementschuk, Ukraine; † 11. November, 1979, London, England
Er spielte das Klavier seit seiner Kindheit. Während seines Studiums an Universität von St. Petersburg war er als Pianist bei Stummfilm beschäftigt. Nach der Oktoberrevolution zog es ihn nach Berlin und später nach Paris. 1925 fuhr er als Tourneepianist durch Amerika. Er wurde nach dem Börsenkrach 1929 als Filmmusikkomponist entdeckt.
